Virewirx was founded as XCOM Labs in 2018 by the former Qualcomm C-Suite leadership team of Paul Jacobs, Derek Aberle, and Matt Grob to advance next-generation wireless technology. In 2023, the company rebranded as Virewirx, focusing on high-performance, multi-gigabit connectivity using 60GHz millimeter wave for systems reshaping the physical world. Virewirx’s specialized team of wireless engineers is focused on a core challenge: moving massive volumes of real-time data wirelessly, reliably, and at scale.
Virewirx has developed the VX60 High Performance Wireless Network, a 60GHz mmWave platform engineered for multi-gigabit throughput, low latency, and secure, dependable performance in demanding environments. VX60 goes beyond tethered systems and conventional Wi-Fi, enabling high-speed wireless UL/DL of sensor data and foundational models.
About CEO Jason Fiber
Jason Fiber works at the intersection of technology, lifestyle, and immersive experiences. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Virewirx (formerly XCOM Labs), a wireless technology company developing advanced IP and next-generation connectivity solutions. Since joining Virewirx, Fiber has focused the company’s strategy on scaling its VX60 high-performance wireless platform to support emerging, data-intensive applications across Physical AI, autonomous systems, and robotics.
Prior to Virewirx, Fiber served as CEO of THX, Ltd. (a Razer company), where he led the company’s evolution into a modern consumer and professional technology brand. His product-driven approach resulted in award-winning innovations and consistent business growth. Earlier in his career, he founded Cordless Recordings, Warner Music Group’s first digital “e-label”, placing him at the forefront of the music industry’s shift to digital distribution.
Throughout his career, Fiber has built and led companies through multiple technology cycles, combining creative vision with operational discipline to bring new platforms and products to market.
A Los Angeles native, Fiber is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and currently resides in San Diego.
About CTO Siddhartha Mallik
Siddhartha Mallik joined Virewirx at its inception as XCOM Labs in 2019. Currently, he leads design, implementation, and productization for VX60 as the CTO of Virewirx. Prior to his time at Virewirx, he spent 11 years at Qualcomm advancing 4G/LTE technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, holding over 350 patents in wireless and cellular networks.
